There was recently a turn restriction corrected on the 401. See:

The change was made yesterday and likely doesn't affect routing yet. Give it a few days.

Isn't this like the heaviest travelled road on the continent? Seems like maintaining it better in waze would be a good idea.

Driving from Windsor to Toronto

Postby Tophicles » Fri Apr 26, 2013 6:07 am

Hi folks!

The Waze App wants to route me via Hwy 402 and cross into the USA. While I realize it's a shorter route, often the hold up times at the border makes it a much longer route in terms of waiting.

Also, it's a bit of a hassle to have to have passports for travelling inside our own country. I think at some point, having a toggle for "Avoid Border Crossings" like "Avoid Toll Roads" should be put into place. This would ensure that folks who live close to the American border (like 90% of Canadians) will not have to cross the border to travel within Canada.

Google Maps does this route (to downtown Toronto) correctly by routing to the 403:

Just my two cents, it's a great app otherwise!

Cheers,

Km.
