hi,
You did everything right - the problem is this version does not have vocal instructions yet. It's definitely in the works and should be available in one of the next updates. This is also the reason that 'navigation guidance' keeps setting back to 'off' by default. This will be changed with vocal instructions.

For now you have the on-display turn by turn instructions. Feel free to forward any other comments or suggestions you have.
Thanks, Dror

btw, we are planning a very cool promotion where users will be able to help us find the next voice of GPS... but more details about that coming soon.

Definitely. Or maybe a mix of Gottfried with Crhis Rock.

Gilbert Gottfried would do a good job.

"Navigation Guidance" Setting

Postby yeswap » Thu Jul 09, 2009 5:02 am

I'm using the Android client on an HTC Ion. Waze has a "Navigation guidance" setting and a "Volume Control" setting. I was hoping that with Navigation guidance = ON and Volume = High that I would hear spoken turn by turn prompts when navigating, but I don't. What are these setting really for?

Also Navigation Guidance keeps resetting itself to "Off". If it does anything useful how can I make the "ON" setting persist?
