Level 5 Unlock Request/Question - Farmington Hills, MI

When going westbound on I-696, waze does not give you the direction to stay to the left on 696 at the split where "Exit 1: I-96 E / I-275 S / M-5 / Grand River Ave / Toledo" is. It instead just tells you the next direction, confusing the driver.

Is there any way to fix this?

What about keep left? Or does it just treat this as it being a regular exit?

Because there is a ramp or exit 1, waze will treat is as you are going straight.

L5s: I would modify that junction to be the same type on both sides, either ramp or freeway, following the rules for wayfinder segments. It's pretty clear to me that user anti-S-crap meant to produce that result when he created and named this segment. That way you get an instruction for both sides, which I feel is optimal in this case, because it's two lanes either way and because it's the final split at the end of an interstate.

This is exactly what I meant. that exit is confusing because two lanes stay on the main highway and two split. Could a level 5 editor please fix this?

I'm not convinced. Because the exit then splits off, I don't see why someone needs to make the ramp a freeway. I'm also not convinced on why the segment anti-S-crap created needs to be a ramp.If that's the case, then why don't we do that at every exit on the interstates throughout the country.

It's not a run-of-the-mill exit, it's the end of an interstate. The split is a decision point. 696 ends and you have to decide whether to go east or west on 96, the parent interstate.

It's standard practice to name one side of such a split "exit", and not the other. Regardless, neither side has more weight than the other.

With the exit sign and the 696 technically ending at that exit, doesn't that negate your argument?
