Bridge closure edit?

Howdy. I've got a bridge closed for likely a year or two -- if it ever reopens, and am wondering about the preferred method of closure. Thanks. -Dana

Is there any press release regarding how long the closure will last, or is the press release/news pretty vague regarding how long the bridge is closed?

I'm also going to merge the segments, on this road as the bridge itself doesn't need to be a separate segment. That may have been a recent edit made, because that change isn't live with the latest batch of map tiles. The closure can only go live if the segment exists (based on node ID) in the live environment. I'll make a couple minor changes so anyone living immediately on either side of the bridge won't be impacted by the closure (which I'll try to get set up tomorrow after any updates made now go live early tomorrow morning).

We can handle the closure a couple of ways. If they're looking to scrap the bridges, we can just disconnect the roads at the impacted bridges. Otherwise, have some rural private driveways installed near the bridge to ensure if someone navigated to those homes/locations they'd still get routing to them. Then for the segment that impacts the bridge, we can set a closure so it shows up with the orange/white stripping to indicate that it's closed.

You might even try reaching out to the County Commissioner and seeing if they'd at least give you a bit more information if directly asked.

Keep in mind. Wrap up all your changes that you need to by just a touch before 5pm (Central) today and you should see those edits live early tomorrow morning with the next release of new map tiles.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I segmented out the bridge this morning while straightening out the road. My thinking was that it would be easier to remove it completely if the bridge went away and private road it to avoid routing issues until it's status changes. Then I woke up and seeke'd guidance. It's not the only bridge to be closed recently in this area, so I want to know how to do it right. :)

As for the closure length: I can't find anything regarding a replacement plan... and doubt there is one due to County budget issues. I watched a presentation to the County Commissioners on bridge replacement, maintenance and inspection costs.. but nothing like a plan.
