Luzerne Michigan - town not shown

Post by RadioDog
Another town in my area - in fact, my home away from home, is not showing. It comes up as Big Creek, which is the broader township. The actual town is Luzerne, and it is searchable in the Waze system and lands you accurately. It is a well known place in the region, and it does have its own post office.

The town is small - about a square mile around this point:

Wikipedia describes it thus:
Luzerne is an unincorporated community on M-72 at 44°36′57″N 84°16′16″W
.[3] The Luzerne ZIP code, 48636, serves most of the western portion of the township as well as small areas in the southern part of Greenwood Township.[4]

If somebody would create this locale, I'll be happy to take care of the related street editing. If this request is inappropriate or in error, please point me to more information so I can learn about what types of communities should appear on the map. (I did look!)

Thank you!

Thank you!

Yes - I just started changing those when I realized the name Luzerne wasn't showing up. Your explanation was very helpful. . . that's what I'll do!

Thank you.

All the relevant streets in Luzerne are now updated. Hopefully we'll see a change soon. (Nothing yet.)

Hey Pete,

Luzerne does in fact exist in Waze...it just doesn't have very many segments attributed to it (see yellow highlighted below):

All the places around there have a Big Creek city attribute too, so I'm guessing that's why the bigger township is overpowering the little guy here. If the places have Luzerne addresses, you can add them and hopefully the city layer will update appropriately and Big Creek will start to recede away from there.

Since Luzerne is already a defined city, you can also update any segments that you know are within the area limits, and the city layer should react to those changes after the tiles are built.
