Hey All,

I’m super excited to share with you that we have three NEW features for Wazeopedia!

Embed for external sources:
The embed tool is live and supports the following sources:
*Youtube
*Waze LiveMap
*Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms both in edit and publish view

How to embed a new video/file?
The embed tool allows pasting plain URLs as well as embed codes (Iframes) inside the WYSIWYG editor or the source code editor, and lets the system embed the source if it is enabled. Here's a video showing all the capabilities of the embed feature.

Good to know:
Waze can add more resources based on your needs and requests.
Communities that would like for Waze to replace all the external links for embedded ones, can email Shira@Waze.com.

Content translation:
Content Translation is a tool to quickly translate pages into a selected language. The extension is integrated with Google translate.

How to create a new page?
Go to your local page, in the Search box type: "Special:ContentTranslation and choose the page you want to copy and translate. Here's a video showing all the capabilities of the content translation feature.

Known issues: The title line isn’t translated automatically, you need to edit it manually.

SSO
Single sign on is now enabled across all the Wiki pages!
You will no longer have to log in everytime you switch from one community page to another :)

The embed feature works really well and will add a new dimension to pages, seeing how to do things is so much more pleasant than reading about it :D

SSO also works, though it does raise the question of having any wiki editor being able to make changes to local pages. I believe some local wikis are locked down by adding an extra user group, which I'm not against.

Not tried the translation yet, but it will mean I might have to trawl through and see what I can steal... I mean replicate.

All these unnecessary replies to a global post is what makes it annoying. If it were just the global announcement and any related follow up posts to said announcement it would cut back on the repeated alerts for everyone until the time passes and they remove the global.

Concerning the announcement, it is possible to define a time period for the post to be announced, and it expires (as announcement) after that.

Great question!

Currently no, but in the long run we will convert the widgets to embed.

Does this need to be a Global announcement?

I'm excited for new features but this probably doesn't need to be pushed to every community subforum.

Since Wazeopedia is made to be used by all communities I guess that staff wanted to make sure as many people as possible saw it. If it had been posted in the Wiki Updates and Discussion forum I would never have read it because I don't check it.

Global announcements can be temporary, once staff feel that they kept this globally visible long enough for the information to reach all communities, they can make it a normal announcement in one forum again and it will be gone from sub-forums.
