Odd routing on I-84E (Portland)

Post by afrenchpress
Regarding this UR: Permalink

This user has an interesting complaint...and is similar to one from a few weeks back where a user didn't respond.

Their destination is 4400 NE Halsey and it would make sense to get off I-84 at Caeser E Chavez Blvd, then turn right on Halsey and go the 2 blocks to the destination. Instead, a couple times that day, it directed the user to go to the next exit and loop around, adding an additional 2 miles.

I can't find any reason for this other than Waze thinking it could possibly be faster, but that seems to be a long way for that to be true.

Thanks for any insight!

Thanks,

Is that something you would do as State Manager? Or something I initiate?

Thanks. What is the proper etiquette? Do I mark this thread as solved now? Or after the RC has addressed the issue?
Thanks

The user reports that the issue seemed to resolve itself about a week after it began.
Shall we mark this solved, or wait for Waze staff response?
Thanks!

Definitely odd routing and it's hard to say what could've caused it. Seems like something that would need to be looked at by Waze staff.

It's something that would have to be done by our RC. I'll pass this along to him.

I've passed it on to Alan but with it being a non-reproducible issue, it's probably something that can't be identified/fixed. Go ahead and close it.
