New map editor

Post by BrianUSAF
Good morning! New to being a formal map editor. Been using WAZE for many, many years, but never signed in formally to the map editing process. I'm in Colorado Springs on the USAF Academy and recently retired so I have nothing but time on my hands, and really want to help the WAZE maps.

Welcome to editing in CO. We're excited to have the help. We have a great group of local editors that are willing to help you learn the intricacies of editing. Here are a few links to read to help you get up to speed.

You will find much of the map locked at higher levels when you first start. This is to protect the map from one time editors that didn't reach out. The most important thing to do is to ask lots of questions. I will send you an invitation to join other local editors on our Discord chat channel. We can unlock things you want to fix and provide tips along the way.

We look forward to seeing you around the map. Again, Welcome to editing in Colorado.

Thanks,
Chuck

Hello. I joined as an editor in January but had to pause to locate a new job. Just started this week. Check! Now back to my interest in mapping. I have lots of time in hotel rooms and airports. We built a house in Meridian Ranch (Peyton/Falcon) east of Colorado Springs last year. All of the maps are way behind out here as you probably know. Planning on 500 new homes this year in Meridian Ranch. I have made a few house number changes successfully. Ready to fill in gaps en masse. I am meeting with the local Domino's manager today to work out a way for him to prioritize problem areas. It will require the drivers to use Waze. He looks up EVERY missing address and hands the driver the Lat/Long on paper. I think I can make his day. More later.
