Last I checked just because a picture displays a license plate number doesn't have to be a reject reason. Though this may have changed.

I was just coming on here to ask this same thing.

Although I don't know how easy it would be to let the reporter 'fix' a PUR, rather than just create a new one.

I feel having a reject field that sends to the reporter the reason would be extremely helpful. It would also let the reporter know that there was an actual reason for the rejection, not just someone doing sweeping rejects.

https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Places#Deter ... ble_Photos

Photos should not show:
  • *People's faces - any photo with a fully identifiable face should be removed, or not approved
*Car license plates - any photo with a fully identifiable license plate should be removed, or not approved
*Anything which allows a viewer to tie a person to a specific location
*Any pornographic content, nudity, sexual content or simulation, etc.

I realize I posted the Wiki, and you posted the forum thread, but don't we generally follow the Wiki while it's being discussed?

Love the idea. I'm all for improving the quality of information coming in through education. Love the predefined replies list. Let's do it!

"Poor quality photo/taken through windows"
"Place submitted from moving vehicle"
"Place already exists in Waze"
"Invalid or bad update information"
"Detail field not for personal review/commentary on place" (This is becoming more and more common)
"Place marker grossly misplaced/Cannot determine correct location" (My patience for tracking down an errant location, particularly when it lacks the correct street name, no HN, and no other details is rather short)
"Need specific name of business, not general 'Barber' or 'Doctor's Office'" (Big one when someone submits a new place that is an office building with multiple doctors!)

I'd say that would cover the vast majority of bad place submissions/updates.
This!!! +1

Not a huge fan of predefined replies but any kind of communication within PURs is better than what we have now which is nothing.

Waze currently sends a default message for rejected places, but I still agree with the suggestion anyway.
It did not have to be mandatory to make a justification, but to have that option for the evaluator.
