More customizable "Speed limits"

Post by sniperkiki
Hello,

Well I do have problems with speed limits recently.
I've seen alot of people reporting speed limits but we need to make it more easier for us to apply it.

Because on ONE segment, we have 2 different speed limits.
On one part of the road is 90 and on the other part is 60 but it's only one segment in Waze.

Would be great if we could specify how start and end point of that speed.
It's not good for us because you need to put speed for entire segment.

It makes a big confusion.

You can cut segments if they are of substantial sizes?

Can you share the PL?

It may be, but if it is really close to another intersection, then it may just be better to put it at the intersection - the App isn't that lightning fast at updating anyway.

Given that you are not really dealing with any competing timings, I would personally have no problem with you cutting the roads and adding in a junction node for the explicit purpose of adding in the speed limits at this location. I might object at other locations. I would also set it back just a little bit, as there is a bit of a delay between where you put in the speed limit and when it shows up in Waze.

Moving the junction node isn't that terribly difficult =P.

Again, that is only for this instance. For other places where the speed limits change exactly at the intersection, it is not worth adjusting the junction nodes and Waze does tend to front load the information when you put in a planned route and I noticed that it updates faster.

And you have to redo all those points one day, when by some magic Waze starts to update the speed instantly.

Well by the Croatian law:
Speed limit has the power after the sign untill you pass first junction, after that again the limit is by the road priority (Highway, City Road, Fast Road.....)

So it's fine for me to just add a "dot" in middle of the segment because I just want to make speed limit different?
Thanks

So you are going on D102 entering roundabout and again back to D102.
This is just one out of many examples we have here.

RED color is where to speed limit sign is located and the BLUE color is where usually you have police guy waiting for you to pass the sign and to punish you for speeding.

Entire road is 90km/h and the speed limit before EVERY junction in Croatian, every roundabout is between 40-60km/h.

After you pass it, you are back to road default limit which in this case is 90km/h

There is a US-specific page for handling where speed limits change, but to my mind it seems like good starting place for the rest of us too.
