CM unable to edit some areas along the coast

Post by lakj100
Hi,
I'm not sure how this can be fixed, but as a CM I am unable to edit some areas along the coast line in my country (short of driving around the whole island). Here are two examples of some of the areas.

https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=-61. ... =193293172

https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=-60. ... =199827930

The only way I could edit to road to add a node at the end of a dead-end is to move the end inland, add the node and save it, then move it back to the coast. This may not be able to work in all areas.

It's a known problem. In the UK I have encountered at least 2 areas where I have the same problems. You can do some edits (like disconnections, deletions, turn & geometry changes) but creating things like junctions or segments is not allowed.

It caught me out badly the first time it happened - I pulled apart a junction intending to rebuild it and then I couldn't. I had to find a local AM to fix it for me!

As far as I know, the only solution is to request an AM area to cover the problem coastline. Or, of course the solution you suggested - drag it inland, make the changes, then drag it back again.

Well, yes, you should be able to edit any part of your country as a CM. Unfortunately there are bugs in the system and this is one of them.

I don't know if anything can be done about this. I'm just going from experience: I know that one of our most experienced Country Managers had to do this for a problem on the SW UK coastline so I assumed it's normal practice. I don't have any "inside" knowledge.

You could try sending in a request to Waze Support - maybe they can tweak the invalid country boundary that's giving you problems. And if that works, please come back here & let us know. :)

But as a CM shouldn't I be able to edit any area that an AM can?
