Google Aerials?

Based on this announcement, will Google aerial images soon follow? That could also cut down a lot of effort if we could jump right to street view from the editor.

For some reason it feels like we won't have to edit anymore and just fix map errors and what not. New editor is coming up? Will we be able to edit on google maps?

Do we suppose that, for a long run, less roads to be added and more road updates/fixs according to new road layout and road work?

Waze maps and Googles maps stay separated and it is not allowed to use google maps data to edit Waze maps.
However - there is going to be a significant focus on the enhancement of the map editor and new tools will be available to us - yes, that includes google's aerials and street view !
so it seems, that google maps roads will not join waze map road segments and also it will be not possible to use them for editing. most probably due to licencing of the road data, which are from external source, not owned google.
but I expect WME will provide google's aerials and some integration of street view in future. that would help a lot as current bing aerials are poor in many countries.
