Yeah, the JNF script is helpful for quickly adding end nodes to dead-end segments.

One more thing: if you want to move the end of the road, deselect the road and select just the junction itself to move. Then the road doesn't lose its end node.

Is there some particular reason the editor doesn't automatically terminate segments and also removes end nodes if you move them around?

As it is I'm finding myself spending a significant amount of time terminating roads. Sure, it's free editing points, but I'd rather spend the time on more worthwhile edits...

There is no reason for it appart from it just not working like that ;-)

If you move the end node it does stay, so that's a workaround for that. Maybe you can try JNF for end nodes?
