The "later" feature does not address when you are driving on the highway. There is no appropriate time to go back and fill in all your alerts once stopped. My most common report is 'vehicle stopped on shoulder', which takes 5 clicks to report. Not real safe when rolling at 65+mph. It certainly seems more useful then a "friends" button which I can't even remove from my map screen.

Preset road reports buttons

By far the most common road reports are vehicle on shoulder and police. Rather than having to press the orange report button with a couple more taps to make the choices I'd like to be able to have preset actions - perhaps up to 3 buttons that sit on the home screen above the orange report button.

A police icon
A vehicle icon for shoulder
maybe a preset weather icon
Accident icon
Traffic icon - choose your own preset for heavy, light etc.

Basically if I could report police, an accident and traffic with a single press that would be amazing, take way less time and be much safer while driving.

Thanks!!! Love the product.

One Tap Shortcut

it would be nice to have a One Tap (shortcut) to highlight Police, Construction or Traffic instead of the multiple menus.

Quick report toolbar

I think it would be valuable to have a configurable "quick report toolbar" available on the map so that a user could predefine their most commonly used reports ("vehicle stopped on shoulder", "visible police", etc.) and drop them with one tap. This would be helpful because fewer taps means less distraction while driving, and it would take less time to report an event, thus improving the accuracy of the map.

Need Preset Hazard Buttons

I would love if there were the option to have preset buttons on the main screen for items (hazards, police, etc.) you frequently enter.

I usually see and enter only a few things - vehicle stopped on shoulder and police (visible). But when I do, I have to hit the "map pin" button --> Hazard --> Shoulder --> Vehicle Stopped --> Send

That's five taps on the screen while I'm driving. I know there are verbal cues you can give Waze, but often these are inaccurate and almost always they interfere or interrupt whatever I'm listening to.

Why not have Waze created (or better yet user created) presets that come up on the main screen with a single tap? I would love a single button on the main screen that does all of this. Or even a single button with a confirmation to SEND. Sort of a macro for the various most frequently submitted items.

I don't mean to reopen an old thread, but given this is based on Top Hazards, I think it is worth mentioning that using voice commands still requires interaction with the phone (e.g. waving) which does still distract the driver from the road. It does it less, but it would be far better to have as per one of my other posts something like a keyword detection to trigger it from the start, I don't know if Waze can listen all the time, or if it can go through OK Google, but that would be the better way to do it, e.g. report a hazard without requiring any movement near the phone, the driver can then continue as is.

Apologies if I have brought up an old thread, but I do not believe that voice commands in their current state do eliminate the hazard (they just reduce it slightly).

Feature Suggestion -One Touch Report buttons

I am a heavy user often times leaving Waze on when just driving around. I frequently send road reports in. While we shoudn't be texting and driving we also shouldn't be fumbling through four button presses to send in a road report. Example, Police, Touch 1 - Report, Touch 2 -Police, Touch 3 - Type, Touch 4 -Send.

A suggestion is to place two to three hot buttons above the report button, Either allow them to be programmable or pre-set. I find the most common for me is Vehicle Stopped on Shoulder, Visible police and Heavy traffic. This would reduce the eyes off there road to two button presses.

Did you try leaving your finger on the report button ? That brings up quick reports.
Also once this is done you don't need to take any risks, Waze will have saved the location and time of the report already and you can finish adding details and send it later when it is safe. (If you don't touch it or manually press "later" the report will minimize to the side until you are ready to open it again.)

Did you try holding the report button to bring up the quick reports ? (If you got iOS only for now)

Sometimes reporting can be dangerous while driving, don't get me wrong, the app has a good way to report quickly and safely.
However, There should be an option to 'Quick Report' meaning. That when clicked, a 'pin' is dropped on the map; When the driver stops or gets to their destination they can fill in the details of there report then.

So if they see a cop or a pothole or construction while driving, they can 'quick report' it (only they see it) then when they stop driving they can go through their 'Quick Reports' and update the details.
Now of course this is only good for a small bit of time. A cop isn't going to still be there if they completed their drive 45 minutes later. However it is good while at a stoplight, or in a parking lot, or at a gas station, and quick drives.

I've always expected an option for this but I thought I'd share. Please leave your feedback and/or tweaks on how this could work. Critisim is welcome, but be nice :)

Hold the report button and quick reports options will show up, select one, that will save the location on the map for placing the pin later. Once you've done that you can keep driving, the report window should minimize itself and you can complete the details and send it later, whenever you feel safe doing it, by pressing the minimized report icon to open the full window again.
