The blue and green landmarks are much much dimmer when your driving in the dark with auto brightness on (this took quite a few tries to get right). The red routing colour matches the dials in my Audi (yes I have OCD)! :D

That is my experience as well. Stations affects a huge number of "classes" of landmarks.

I was playing in the week by using a plain scheme like my night time one and changing some parameters to bright colours to see which of the road types and landmarks are actually used:

No surprises regarding the road types they all map to what you'd expect apart from Streets, Parking Lot Roads, Private Roads & Service Road Types all map to "street.class". The only one I couldn't figure out was the "exit.class" anyone know what it's used for?

For landmarks most don't seem to be used, the ones that are used are:
1. "Cities.Class" = City polygons from WME. Even though we have had three updates on ROTW since I completely changed some city names this has not updated in the client, most likely because the city polygons layer seems to be broken and has not updated in almost 2 months. Support keep ignoring me on this ...
2. "Parks.Class" = Parks, Woodland & Forest Landmarks, basically everything that is green.
3. "Sea.Class" = Water Feature Landmarks, basically everything that is blue (ie water)
4. "Stations.Class" = Everything else ...
5. The remaining landmark classes don't seem to do anything unless someone knows different.

Yeah, the categories of landmarks the client can render differently is small. We don't really know how they are categorized on the server side when the data is sent to the app.

Disappointing. :(

I created a new set of entries in the night schema called Other.*, changed the color setting, but my "other" landmark doesn't show up in the new color.

le sigh... :(

You surely can try ;)
Although I wouldn't expect a lot from that, the mapping of landmarks has changed a few times, who knows what are the "internal" types/names now ..

Works great, now, Alan. Thanks!

One question. Currently in WME, we can specify a landmark type of "other", and we've been using it to mark out major construction zones (where roads will be closed, restricted, rebuilt, etc for months at a time). I don't see an "Other" category in the schema file, can I add one it to get it to recognize those?

Any chance someone can make one similar to the OS streetview dataset? If I ever get time I may do a few myself, some of the colouring in other products does look nicer in some ways at times.

I just copied in AlanOfTheBerg's scheme that was posted back on pg 3. I carefully cut'n'pasted just the color definition lines, and carefully matched up parameter names so I could ensure that I was getting them in the right places, but my screen looks nothing like his.

Did you use the post from September? Because that is the right one. The other one, I don't know what happened.

Aargh! That was it, I grabbed the Feb post. I've got a copy of the Sept post now, and I'll feed that in.

IIRC, Declutter affects the number of roadnames visible on the screen. It does nothing about the amount of segments that are shown at different zoom levels.
