See the updated Places documentation

Places wiki page.

Specifically, the sections about photos and whether to "Accept or Reject?" a Place update sent from a driver in the app.

I have added some thoughts/ideas guidance around updates which are duplicates rather than an update to an existing Place.

Place updates should show at at least zoom 2. Pretty wide. Make sure you have the layer enabled.

the place POINTS don't show for me till I zoom in to at least 5

Place updates ('submissions' as Fredo termed it) show at higher zoom levels.

Points don't show, and never have, until zoomed in much more. And they shouldn't appear any higher. Can you imagine the clutter?! :)

PERFORMANCE BUG: (Continues from beta testing) Places and Place update layer continue to fail to load from the server (Features 500 internal server error) which causes road layer to be unselectable sometimes, and also prevents other features like Update Requests from displaying.

UPDATE: This doesn't just cause URs from displaying, but can cause all objects to fail to load.

Mentioned in the Editor Newsletter.

This is still only valid for new segments. Feature should not even be available yet.

I still think this is a bug....

Haha. Not, not quite. And that could be a feature. It wasn't explained or mentioned as a feature during testing, so I figured it was a bug. But, it may be what they want.

There were hundreds of bugs and oddities ironed out in testing. What you have now is really quite clean in comparison.

When someone add a photo to a new place, there are two steps:
Accept new place
Accept the photo.

If I accept the photo, the place created with the photo but the other update "add new place" is still here.
If I refuse it, the place is deleted.

Yep. Also reported during testing, that the workflow for new places/photos combo is prone to error and is unclear, and that accidental deletion is easily possible.

BUG: Deleted segments are retained in local cache and can be junctioned to after being deleted and saved. Steps to reproduce:
  1. Delete a segment
  2. Save
  3. Draw a new segment from another spot to where the deleted segment was
Notice the snapping behavior. This should never happen because the segment has been deleted.
