Is there a way to designate the major route?

If both segments have the same road type and name, then (I think) that it will not give a navigation prompt.

From my experience, and this is by no means definitive, if all three segments at a particular junction are the same road type, and two have the same name, then there will be no routing instruction given for that even if the second segment turns away at an angle from the first segment. The other segment, having a different name, even if it is nearly directly straight ahead, will generate a "keep left" or "right" instruction.

In that intersection you have linked, I'm not even sure which segments are part of which road because the segments aren't named consistently, some have no name at all. But, given the above info which agrees with what Timbones already posted, even if the actual road veers off, you should get no navigation prompt. If you want it to give a prompt, then name of the veering segment and the prior segment need to have a different name.

The other option is to make a really small nearly right-angle geometry jog in the turning/veering segment. Similar to this segment, which generates a "turn right" which is appropriate for this intersection. On the client, you will never notice that very small right-angle, but only the smoother turn which follows the turn lane.
