I find it very funny that no one reports roads closed (i.e. for a bridge replacement) when they get closed, but always report them the week before they reopen... Just got a UR that says
Type: Missing bridge overpass
Description: bridge out road closed
and when I checked with the town, their website says
The closure will begin on Monday, September 17th and will continue through December 1st
Reported one week to the day before it reopens.... :x

Well, in Baton Rouge, the 'road closed' signs go up a few weeks before the work begins.
The dates on the signs are usually several days earlier than the actual start and end dates for the work.

I guess, the work could run late otherplaces too. ;)
Typically here in CT, there are warning signs that go up several weeks to a month in advance for long term work. Unless there is a major storm the construction company/CT DOT will at least put the barriers up that day. For re-openings, it all depends on what's going on. We have several projects that are months ahead of schedule (contractors usually get a bonus for finishing early) and a few that are 3+ years behind schedule (don't ask)... If I see the signs (or press release) about an upcoming closure, I'll try to note it and get the closure done in the map, but I can't know about all of them...

Dunkin Donuts advertises with Waze in the US... There are pins for all the Dunkin Donuts locations that just show up on the map without having to search for them... They show Open/Closed with hours when you click on the pin...

BlazeTool wrote:Ah, didn't realize the ads had those details. Only ones that show up locally are for hotels, which are of course always open. Krispy Kreme and Tim Horton's apparently keep Dunkin Donuts at bay here, I think there's only 2 inside of the outer belt.
We've had other issues with the DD pins too - mostly slightly incorrect locations causing bad routing... Where is the "here" you speak of? (You didn't set your location in your forum profile & it's not in your signature either)

I've already moved the starbucks (via Bing) to get it IN the plaza in the first place... I can't make it perfect...

Bing sometimes responds, but Navteq is absolutely the worst. I have 9+ month-old reports for moving address pins and I've never, ever received anything back from them both from reports or for support tickets. They are simply a garbage company, IMO.

Now, TeleAtlas: I like them. I have always received a response within 3 days.
I've had better luck moving POIs with Bing than with addresses...

I just looked, & found the same thing Alan has found, Navteq hasn't looked at any of my reports, and TeleAtlas has them already corrected...

Maybe Waze should cut a deal with TeleAtlas for Address/POI lookup - Waze gets the database for & integrates an update mechanism into WME so TeleAtlas gets the updates & new roads as they are created... An even trade of information... Then we could REALLY put the pins in the right spot and Solve all those URs about houses being 100 feet away from where Waze things it is...

Is the post witchy or ill-wished? :?

Thanks! Apparently it keeps for a post.
Have you enabled it? It is on now.
Kuhlkatz went in and edited both their posts to turn it on.... You can also set the default behavior in User Control Panel -> Board Preferences tab -> Edit Posting Defaults.
