Case of "jolly speechrecognition" again - should have been "turn", but whatever dialect was used didn't make it sound like that...

I found that pressing the earphone-jack hard enough to the tube it will fit in without adapter. Just try it yourself and save that $0.99!

In the end, making U-turns is a balance between personal taste, turning-radius of the vehicle and properties on the map. (30 ton truck - check. Prefer no U-turns at all - check)

The issue isn't with U-turns in this case...it's the issue with waze routing people down dead-ends to make a U-turn at the end of the dead end, which could be a mile from where they turned off. If it would just say "Make a U-turn", things would be much better.
I was referring to the different types of U-turns, like (extreme narrow)single-node, #-crossing (less narrow or quite wide) or around the block. Going into a dead-end street (or making /any/ detour) just to make an extreme narrow U-turn at the endnode (announced or not) is at the extreme end of that spectrum.

For those spots where sunglare can happen - it is a combination of weather (clear sky) and angle/position of the sun. Both can be known from sources or calculation, and if the conditions are right for a spot, an alarm could be triggered. But... given Waze's record of not getting the automatic day/night switching right I wouldn't try to depend on it :D .

Winter-conditions are another tale: they could be known from weather-sources, the day that it starts snowing Waze could learn from observation what happens to the traveltimes and next year, as soon as weather-sources say it will snow - Waze could adjust traveltimes/give extra timepenalties to those streets that apparently are not cleared from snow etc. Also a nice idea but it will only add to the precision of routing on 5 or 10 days per year in those areas where snowfall is a problem. Count in some extra time for the Israelis to debug this!

To sum it all up: these are very much niche-wishes that do not influence commuting by 99% of the population. Do not expect the trouble of developing this to get justified anytime soon.

The passenger is clearly using Apple Maps.
No, he isn't. "Cool, I can see us on Streetview now!". (Zooming in) "Aw, you know we are driving in the wrong direction?".

Think you're not allowed to make this turn?

Make a ridiculous U-turn that you're definitely not allowed to make instead!

I'm not sure which surprises me less, that WSDOT spelled a city name incorrectly or that a jolly driver decided that they needed to report it as a map issue.
