Actually...."drive safe" is grammatically correct in the safe way as "read fast", "jump far", etc. But it does sound stupid and I translated it to safely for here

I think it sounds fine as it is. It's not about correct grammar, it's conveying the information as simply as possible for the driver. The way it is said now does this well.
Be ready to... sounds really wrong, and worse than the current one imo.
