Waze is also at fault here. Why not prompt the user for the street name and capture it when they choose the missing road report?

Yes master, solved.
Well if they paid to advertise with Waze, this could happen :)

And this is Waze's problem?

Missing road (user reported)

Description: road closed
Reported on: December 27

Received 2 of these, this one made it all the way to the closure.

This road closes anytime we have a significant snowfall, like this last week (not that I truly expect out of towners to know that). This last storm created 2 avalanches with in ski areas that killed two people (a very uncommon phenomenon), so this road may not open for another week or it may open tomorrow. That's not my beef.

What are people expecting from their GPS??? If they watched or listened to any road report, they would know Emerald Bay was closed. They passed at least 2 roadside signs stating the road was closed, they had to pass at least one CALTRANS display (CMS) describing the closure and pointing them to a CALTRANS radio station that describes it in audio for them.

I can and have created breaks in the passes that won't open until spring so Waze won't route someone through there. I can't keep up with and Waze doesn't update often enough for the short term closures.

So do they really expect Waze to be so real time that it knows the road conditions better that CALTRANS? Do they drive without looking out the window? Now I know how AlanoftheBerg feels when editors don't read the Wiki.

Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better.
