Perhaps the reporter thought s/he was too far outside 128 for police to come and remove the accident vehicles. (Sorry -- I used to live in Northborough, and the "you're too far from Boston for me to visit you" attitude I used to get from my friends back then really infuriated me.)

I think this would be more useful for freight train crossings. I commute across this ungated CSX crossing every day. It's not common, but about once or twice a month I get stopped for 10-15 minutes near here as a freight train crosses. "We're detecting a slowdown. Are you in traffic?" "No." The problem with taking an alternate route in this case is that pretty much all of them cross the same CSX track, so you'd likely be delayed the same amount of time at another crossing.

I've also lived in more populated areas with commuter trains that put the gates down and take no more than your average wait at a red light to pass through the railroad crossing. A reroute would be of limited utility in this case. It is more for freight train crossings, I think.

Which turn is time-restricted?

The UR is on a turn from what looks like a school exit onto a road. Obviously this school isn't great at teaching reading comprehension.

There's no GMSV from the correct angle. I can see there's a sign under a stop sign, likely with some restrictions listed, but I can only see the back of the sign. Further, the UR isn't in an area I have frequent reason to drive through to check.

(I cannot add a restriction for "school days" in Waze, so unfortunately, this has to be restricted on holidays and school vacations as well.)

What do you think we are? The highway department?

I'm not entirely sure how to respond to this one. "Contact the highway department?" Or should I actually make the request for the reporter?

I'm going to have to sign up for flickr or something since I can't post screen shots directly to the forum.

General error.
Reporter typed nothing.
Waze-recommended route suggests they turn out of the parking lot onto a main road.
GPS track shows them (presumably) walking around inside a Costco.

What I thought of saying about 10 minutes after the fact:

"Although it would be a cool feature, Waze does not currently provide shopping cart navigation instructions for avoiding crowds inside big box stores and warehouse clubs."

What I actually said:

"Hello. I am a volunteer map editor responding to your problem report in the Gateway Overlook shopping center in Elkridge/Columbia. Unfortunately, Waze did not provide enough information for me to tell exactly what happened. I can only see that Waze suggested you turn from the parking lot onto Waterloo Road, and you were (likely) walking around with your phone inside the Costco.

What was the nature of the problem you experienced?"

Let's hope s/he has a sense of humor. I've left Waze on after I've stopped driving and forgot to close the app; if I look at some of my drives I can see myself walking around the house, or chasing my dogs around my back yard when they don't come when called. It's given me a good laugh, although I know it DOES pollute the GPS data.
