It seems the fix is soooo slow. URs continue to come about land being underwater. I know that fixing the coastline of many places around the world is not an easy task. Why doesn't Waze seek the help of volunteer editors in every part of the world to complete the task quicker?redviper26 wrote:the underwater issue is a complicated one and around the world - fixing it is slow.
There's a map layer that is not accessible to volunteer editors that is causing this problem. This layer seems to be only accessible to high-level editors at Waze the company. The task of fixing this layer seems to be overwhelming. This is why it is taking so much time to fix.
It is not like an electrician doing a plumber's job. It is like having to fix all electrical problems of a mega-city using only a handful of electricians.
I think Waze should find a way to expedite the fix because it is causing so much unnecessary URs from Wazers around the world.

So is it ok for us local editors to add an Island area around the "underwater" areas to temporarily "fix" the issue and to avoid Wazers reporting about this issue everywhere else?redviper26 wrote:Not all bodies of water were changed to areas, plus the underwater issue is a complicated one and around the world - fixing it is slow.

IMDashti, there's nothing the editors can do. It's a Waze problem. Just like you don't ask an electrician to do a plumber's jobIMDashti wrote:It seems the fix is soooo slow. It's probably not that easy to fix something this large scale

Yes, we would certainly appreciate some update feedback from the Waze team. URs have been flooding in as we're not supposed to "hack" the water bodies on land, but leaving us guessing and hoping for a fix is not good too. Please do at least keep us updated on the progress so that we can explain these to our community and that they will understand better.

Removing the sea will result in ever more problems I believe. All the sea/lake/pool MIGHT get removed and it'll be more troublesome to add it back. I don't think the problem lies with the Waze Map Editor as we don't see the overlapping water bodiesi_vanl wrote:What if the sea or water is removed? Its concerning to drive on water.
