As discussed earlier that seems to be everyone's recommendation and why I switched to my failed attempt at bow ties. Problem is almost every intersection on E Washington is U-turn restricted. If I used bow ties on all of them the street would look like spaghetti in the client. If I am going to merge the two lanes at every intersection I might as well merge the entire road to a single two way.

Thing is when I talk to my Wazer co-workers they want to see the two one ways that is what they expect to see as it matches their view of the road. They didn't much care for the bow ties either.

I'll just leave it as it is for now, to be honest I'm curious to see how things turn out :)

Likely scenario, new editor unties the bows and enables all turns on stacked streets.

I'm bringing this thread back to life. It would appear a local AM has untied the mapcat bowties that WeeeZer14 and I had updated. I had been checking them for UR's and hadn't seen any new ones untill today and it looks like our changes never made it to the map before they were untied.

So far the location where I used the two staked road option is still in working order and has been running in the client with out creating URs and has flied under the radar to other editors.

I am really starting to think this road should be collapsed to a single two way.

Sure would be nice if Waze created a tool to address this issue.

There are two kinds of U-Turns... one where there is only one two segment. This cannot be blocked as there is no method for doing so (and maybe no way to save it in the database, depending on how these are documented).

This one is the other kind, where you have two one way segments with a crossover. In it's current configuration you cannot make it denied, as you actually have two different turns, and it would appear that the crossover serves a purpose to get to business on the other side, so you can't restrict either of the turns in itself or you wouldn't be able to route to/from the business.

If the requested u-turn is persistent (not caused by some kind of map issue that the fix hasn't made it through processing yet), then you might use what is called a mapcat bowtie, it's a unique solution that uses several cross over roads to allow the restriction of turns like this. It technically doesn't look correct, but it is functional. Search the forum for topics on this.

Yeah, as overlapping roads like this might cause a map problem report in the future. And I don't know if it would even be obvious to me, that this was on purpose.

The best solution would be for Waze to allow for a way to tell the editor whether u-turns are allowed in these intersections.

I've been using a triangle like that in many places for a while. I can confirm that it usually works nicely.

The only downside is that the little segments don't often get matched for GPS points when they are small since GPS is so inaccurate. So I have had issues with those short segments getting valid speed data resulting in routes avoiding using the turn for a while even with frequent use by myself and others.

Based on the Waze provided route lines shown for the UR, I'd say the client doesn't have the latest geometry as shown in the editor. What is shown in the editor may not generate a turn right while what is shown in the provided route definitely will.
