When should you mark a Reported Problem as Solved

Post by redshadowing
What I'd like to know is, at what point in time should you mark a Reported Problem as Solved? I've been going through and fixing problems in my editable areas, but since those edits aren't making it to the current maps, the problems are getting reported again, sometimes by the same users. Should I mark as soon as *I* think the problem is solved? Should I mark it as not a problem if I can't find anything wrong with the map that would cause it (especially if the roads around it were edited since the last refresh)?

What do you think?

What is ridiculous about the current unhelpful email that goes out is that the "not a problem" selection doesn't send your Waze username to the requester. Only the "Solved" version does. Soooo not helpful.

Good point. I wasn't thinking how it would affect other editors. I have been switching them as soon as I fix them and as well. The more I think about it, it doesn't make any sense to keep them out there.

It'd be so much easier if the maps were refreshed more often, but I can imagine the massive undertaking it is to get it done.

Thanks for the input.

I mark them as soon as they're done, for the sake of other editors. It is solved, it's just not been uploaded now.

I would wager that many users who report map problems either don't care or don't have a valid email address entered. To my eyes, it's more important that we don't lead other editors on wild goose chases looking for problems where there aren't any anymore.
