MTE Mode - New feature

Postby MapSir » Wed Jun 15, 2016 9:00 am

Hey Guys!

We've just launched a new version of the WME to Production, lots of fixes and tweaks.
But the crown jewel is our new MTE (Major Traffic Events) editing mode!

Please note it's enabled only for ROW and IL servers, with NA to follow.

Read the manual on how to submit an MTE here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BLA ... 2W1rY/edit

Thank you!

Good question Vince!

Currently all editors of all levels are able to see the mode and create events.
But road closures are still limited per rank in each country.

Next stage, events will be created as UR's on the map and will wait for approval by the higher ranked editors.

Our Loc. team is moderating the events.

This is answered in the Google document above

In this first phase of the tool, you will be able to create events and upload closures through the WME, but automatic push message and website creation will still be turned off.
*IMPORTANT* For a push to be sent, all event closures need to be created in the WME 48 hours in advance of the event start time.
...
Once the closures are attached to the event, go back to the event in event mode and mark it “Submit”. Save!
...
Once your event is marked as “Submit”, somebody from the Waze closures team will review the event and decide whether to send a push message for it.
Once this tool is fully operational, the community will have all permissions to self manage this process.

Please could we have a changelog topic in the forum as it was usual in the past?

I believe it is not. For the WME-created MTEs, we are missing the notification for registered editors "from around", just like it is coming from the form-generated MTEs. How the heck shall I notice, that an L2 in my city (who does not participate in the forum) has created an MTE for an upcoming half-marathon?

Sent from a touch display, which took care of perfectly scrambling my thoughts.

trying to get used to the good new asocial Android 4.xx.0.yyy (on OP-X March-me-Low).

Sorry, then it's just that we understood the question very differently. In any case, since this was said:
MapSir wrote:Next stage, events will be created as UR's on the map and will wait for approval by the higher ranked editors.

Our Loc. team is moderating the events.

I assumed that the question was not about us getting a notification about users creating MTE's, since from reading this we can deduce that the answer is no, it's currently only monitored by the Waze Loc team, but that later on we will have notifications through URs.
Which is why I thought it was about wether our newly created MTE's would be sending out notifications, because unlike the above this was not discussed in the thread already.

The original question was not very specific so it could have been understood either way. In any case both possible interpretations have been answered.
