WME not respecting segment attribute differences

Post by atrophicshiner
I'm sure I highlighted this several WME versions ago but we can no longer comment on WME releases.

It is currently possible to delete a node separating two segments with the following different attributes, these should all prevent node deletion: I have not checked other attributes as yet but wouldn't be surprised to find others.

EDIT: Added examples & SL

I have found it possible to merge segments of different elevation and direction but not speed limit or road type. I don't think it's a problem though; just set the merged segment with the attributes you want

It's a problem as an editor can delete what they think is an unnecessary node and change a 1-way segment into a 2-way segment (or vice-versa) without realising. Similar with Road Type.

I can get the segments to merge if there is a verified SL & set SL. Not if one segments has no SL.

Actually, if you think about it, WME is correct. If two one-way streets are pointing to one single node, it's impossible for a car to drive out of that point (forbidden direction), so it can only be a two way street to be able to get out :-)
Not the issue being highlighted. Currently a segment of 2-way that is joined to a segment that is 1-way, which we have in the UK if one end of a street is access/exit only, the joining node can be deleted making the entire street 2-way, this would then allow Waze to route in prohibited direction (or it changes a 2-way street into 1-way meaning a valid direction is no longer routable).

Today I was able to delete the node between 2 segments that were identical except 1 had a TBR :!:

Tried it out on some similar locations (similar to your UK location but where one segment was even private road) and indeed, it's not good, it joins them and changes the road type of one of the segments

It's the same problem with the "unpaved" check box.
