Thank you for the update, Daliah, and thanks to everyone who was involved in providing the information you just gave us, and involved in making the internal changes on how features are released.
Improvements in internal communication around new feature release is a very positive change. As part of that, please re-iterate to the folks involved that a step to explicitly consider what uptake will be like for editors of various degrees of experience and connection to the editing community, and to explicitly get feedback on how to make this as easy to understand as possible. This early change to a more descriptive road type is great. It can certainly help avoid future problems such as the persistent (to this day) confusion about other road types such as Walking Trail and Pedestrian Boardwalk.
Your post also tells us what to expect from the Alley road type as it continues to be developed, and it tells us that if the Waze community sees the need for a "terminal road" type (such as the terminal road type found in Google Maps), that it should continue to try to press that point and request yet another new road type.
Thank you again for a very informative post, full of information the editing community can use to make decisions about improving the map.
