My bad. Hold tight while I go find the right code.

...okay, try it again now (same version number).

The interface looks the same, but you'll see longer city names when two cities in different states/countries are in view.

I'll take a look at the State, State thing as well as the idea of No City, State (I was having similar thoughts, but it depends on the model data)

Did you change the country as well?

That'll be why then. Two cities with different names in the same country will appear just as before. It's two cities with the same name but different countries will get their respective country appended to their names.

If the original Dutch city is too far away (i.e outside of editor view) then it won't be in the model data. My script only sees the one city.

I'll check out your link in a bit.

Download and install the script again. If you look at the file, you should see @updateURL on line 9.

Here's WME Colour Highlights Beta v1.4.4 (uploaded 10:35 GMT, Nov 5th)

This will include "No City" or "No City, State" in the list of cities, overriding the gray No City option.
For example "No City, Idaho" segments can be clearly seen around Virginia City, MT.
Other interesting test cases are Detroit, MI and Buffalo, NY, with a mess of states and countries.

Edit: As for States appearing in the list of cities, I have no idea why this is happening. The city of "Washington" really is in the list of cities from Waze, so must be a bug at their end. The only thing that is different about the "state" cities is a much higher ID number, around 100,000,000+. I've attempted to filter out these cities, which will hopefully not hide any real cities.

A few changes to my latest beta version (v1.4.6)
  • Show both states and countries when near border (thanks skbun)
  • Highlight nodes on main roads that have revcon or selfcon (experimental)
I'm considering re-including the 'measles' to the trunk of this script. In this version, red and purple splodges will appear on main roads (i.e. not streets nor non-driveable). Soft-turns are not shown. You can still see the full diagnostics by clicking on a node.

Bonus: If you have 'Brian's script', then you'll see a link to activate it's functionality. There will also be warn a warning if it's not working.

Let me know how you get on with it...

TheDane wrote:The Country/Border function shows up on the Danish/German border but not at e.g. the Danish Swedish border separated by a 3 mile sea. Does show up where a road on a bridge connects the countries and the road changes country at one point.
This sounds like exactly how it should work. You'll only see the country name if there are streets in the view from more than one country.
