suddenly not recognizing certain turn restrictions

Post by steelealexander
today waze routed me directly onto the freeway instead of taking the ramp. The connectivity is right and the turn restrictions are in place. It used to route me correctly around the ramp. Is this something that has to do with the updates? Do we have to do something different to get waze to obey turn restrictions now? thanks

Check the level number of those roads. Whichever road is the bridge over the other road should have a higher level number indicating it is off the ground. This should help Waze realize they are not connected.

Well I'm not sure why the routing would override the turn restrictions. But I have suggestions to make things more clear, and remove the ability for the turn to even happen.

1) Use bridge under/over to remove the intersection nodes. This will remove the need for turn restrictions. Just having them on different levels won't keep you from turning from one to another, otherwise you wouldn't be able to join two segments at different levels.

2) Make sure to use the edit window "lock" check mark for your freeways segments, so the auto adjuster (<cough> mangler) doesn't decide to make your one way freeways into two ways based off inaccurate gps tracks.

3) You can also remove separator line, since the road is split into two one ways. Separator is intended for a two way with a barrier down the middle. In theory routing will take this into account for the side of the street your destination is on.
