We don't need to know their username. There should at least be a way to bring this to their attention and have them deal with it internally ASAP. If anyone opens Waze just to be faced with an offensive message, the first thing he will think is "What's this garbage app that is insulting me?" and the second thing is delete the app and never download it again, even if it's the best navigation app in the world.

Any user generated content should have at least a "Report abuse" button.

They should know better how to deal with abusive comments on closures. Some closures last 6 months. This means it's not just a temporary hazard report that will disappear in a few minutes. And those abusive comments will stay there for everyone to read. There are different solutions out there, one is to apply some sorts of filter to the comments before they are posted publicly to make sure they are safe. Or apply an already available feature "voting" so that comments that are reported as abusive more that once are handled automatically. I'm sure staff can figure out tens of ways to handle this issue to make Waze a safer app for everyone.

If you've been asking them for years, I'm not going to bother contacting them. I'm just stating that this is bad user experience.

I have witnessed an anonymous user spam several connected RTCs with expletives. All we could do was delete the closure and re-add it, which disrupts the RTC, deletes all other comments good and bad, and lets the potty mouth off the hook.

How to stop an offender?

Somebody is adding offending racial, sexual, and political comments on some closures that were added on WME. The user's username is not shown. Just a long number is shown. How can we report this behavior?

It's a daily rutine in IL.... Waze don't really care about it unfortunately...

Whether Israel or somewhere else, abuse has to be dealt with. We don't want to reach a level where Waze becomes a platform for ugly attitudes. Bad users should be dealt with appropriately. How can we make Waze to take action in this matter?

They don't have to show the usernames. But they have to have some effective tool to report abuse and deal with it seriously. Do we have to go to the length of blowing up the subject in social media in the face Google in general and Waze in particular? Do we have to make another "Me Too"-like campaign against Waze for them to wake up?!!

In our community we have to live almost daily with this situation. We understand that some users relieve their personal frustration by attacking others, but this behavior has no justification. A change must be promoted at a cultural level, but it’s a slow and complex process.

I've reported a similar thing to Waze in the past and they did come back to me very quickly to say they had taken action to flag/block the user.

Just raise a support request and give the information you have with screenshot or permalink to the example.

In theory there is a monitoring system, but I've no idea if/how that works:

Who will be flagged by our system?
* Users who exceed the limit for reports.
* Users who misuse the Waze app through inappropriate language and/or images, as well as copyright infringements.
