I use Firefox and Chrome and the editor seems more picky on Firefox than Chrome when choosing road segments.

The editor opens up a large number of sessions. I had a switch that would choke on Waze editing. If you have an older router or a really cheap one, there' s a good chance its running out of sessions. Will often take several minutes of not doing anything for them to clear, then it will work again for a short time.

A good way to test if it is a session issue, is do you have problems with other web traffic? If the sessions are maxed out, your web browser will have problems opening new web pages at the same time.

I've seen this too and it's not the old behaviour. You can select a segment and it will turn blue but not show the end points and not be editable. You can de-select it, select another segment and the same thing will happen. You have to refresh or hit permalink to fix it.

I think it started more recently than the introduction of the new editor, but possibly coincident with the switch to new infrastructure for INTL. Perhaps WME (on old infrastructure) is getting out of sync?

I'm using Chrome, latest version, on Windows XP. I won't be home & editing for a couple of hours, but I'll try disabling scripts to see if it makes a difference (apart from crippling my editing :P ).

CrackedLCD wrote:...when selecting small segments with geometry nodes in between the A-B points, I'm noticing a big tendency for the cursor to not change from the crosshairs back to a pointer. When this happens, if I click anywhere on the screen, it places the geometry node at that spot. It's very annoying during mass edits and deletes, where I'm trying to delete a lot of unneeded driveways or nodes in a reasonable amount of time. The only workarounds are to either hit escape and cancel the action, or wiggle the cursor over the selected segment back and forth until it "releases" and goes back to a cursor.
I'm getting this happen all the time. Really annoying! :x I think it's a timing issue: I get the impression that it happens when you click on the link and immediately move the pointer away. Although it seems to have grabbed the node and you can't "drop" it, it hasn't actually done so. I normally save and then permalink and the node is back where it started. I shall have to try wiggling.

I just don't get why the City field even appears in Alternate as a separate option then. I thought it was to select different alt names for the different cities the road travels through, as all the segments I'm finding with this already filled out have different city names than the primary.

Annoyingly now, when you start typing a street/city name and it starts matching something else in the "help" list that pops down below, it selects the first entry in the list when you hit tab. This didn't happen before.

Time for me to take a nap.

Yeah, so I just tap escape. Not sure about the "quickly" part as it just stays there once I hit Esc. Or I just click Apply. But, Esc then tab 4 times gets you to Apply if we're staying close to the keys.
Whereas before, it was 2 keystrokes, now it's 5.
