(Edit : I did not want to write this post in this section, I wanted top put it on the 3.5 feedback section. Sorry for the mistake.)

I would like to report a problem which was already present with the last version.
Sometimes we have a "turn left" or "turn right" instruction, when there is no other way to go... (minimal mode)
If there is other way, they are forbiden.

Example :
https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=1.33 ... s=62075349
GPS says 'turn left' when you go to point A to B. No instruction will be better.
This example does not happened before 3.5.

With some Y roads, there is also the problem, example before or after a roundabout. The logical is to go straight. A 150° turn is not possible... (and turn is already forbidden on the map)

Other example, but I have tried to edit the road to don't have the instruction (and waiting an update to see the results)
https://world.waze.com/editor/?lon=1.34 ... 6,62080099
B to A : we have currently a 'turn right' instruction, which has no meaning in this case. The complete instruction is : stay left, then turn right.

(I have instructions in french, so I translate into what I think it is in english)

I haven't read it recently, but before v3.5, there was no "invisible" mode, but there was the no-login mode giving you a usa_ or world_ username. The legalese I believe gave more privacy rights to the user regardless of submitting requests and what not. Waze just needs to make sure they have the right language to avoid lawsuits. Some users have been vocally pissed about their data being captured and stored. In fact, the reason the username was removed from URs was, I believe, because of an outcry.
i (mostly) don't care if i can see the username of the UR submitter. would it be enough to be able to include a comment to the submitter when closing a UR?

Wow,

I go away on a little "vacation" and there is a new editor and 18 pages of chat about it!

Thanks Waze for the new editor. It's great to see all the effort you're putting into the app and tools. I actually watched the new editing videos just to see how you were communicating with new users--good job, although some of the graphics are now different with the new user interface of the editor.

Here are a few comments, apparently some similar to others:

(1) I found that old_cartouche is finally gone. I tried to go there to unlock segments that should not be locked (as we could sneak in and do before), but no way to do that now. Therefore the issue of inappropriately locked segments from prior policy is now even more important to your experienced editor community. This is very disabling. Putting in unlock requests is not very efficient.

(2) The whole street editing user interface looks very nice but seems a bit more difficult to use because the fields are small to fit larger text. They match a nice look-and-feel, but are not very human-factors aware. Larger text areas are important for productivity for experienced edtiors, in my opinion.

(3) I really like the addition of A-B to help sort out directionality in a more intuitive way, but I think your user interface methodology is obscuring the road too much. The big A and B at the end of segments is easy to see but a bit too overboard. If you could consider putting A and B just off above or below segments, that would be better. The A and B obscure junctions and make you have to deselect the road to see them. While deselecting works, it 's not an optimal approach for an efficient UI.

Look forward to more updates in the editor and client!

Problem updating house numbers.

https://world.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&l ... s=60431707

Sveavägen is a mess, I tried to remove incorrect numbers and leave them blank. Saves OK but after refresh of the map the old faulty numbers is back. For some segments I managed to add th correct number but for some reason you cannot remove numbers och in some cases change them.

An alternate name street must also have the same city as the primary segment. (My emphasis added)
So there's no Street anywhere in the world that belongs to two cities or a city with two official names. Somehow I doubt that.
Forget different cities. How about different states? For example: State St in Bristol, TN / Bristol, VA

To the left of the double yellow line is VA, to the right is TN.

I posted this in the private beta forum, but it impacts the production editor also so here it is:

Address Numbering bugs:

- Have a segment with numbers assigned. Split the road by adding in a new road junctioned in somewhere in the middle. Result = the two segments that replace the original segment have IDENTICAL numbering. Expected = the numbering range should be distributed across the two segments based on a percentage of the original segment they represent OR prompt user for new distribution. Note = if you look at the segments BEFORE saving, it looks like this distribution is done, but when you save the address changes are not actually saved.

- Have two segments with numbers assigned. Contiguous ranges on each. Delete the node connecting the two segments. Results = the new segment is numbered with the range of just one of the segments. Expected = new segment should have the start range of one of the original segments and the end range of the other original segment. Note = no difference in what the editor shows before or after save.

Above behavior is present in both the beta and production editors right now.

You can redefine them. Click on what you want to change in the help list, then press the key stroke you want. I have shift-m = managers and shift-a = arrows myself :)

One issue I have come across thus far is when I have clicked on a problem/request to update, the zoom in plus on the left is disabled. I have to close the drop down at the top of the screen to use the zoom in function. I'm using Chrome

Another thing that would be AMAZING (and I'm secretly hoping I can already do this and just don't know it yet...) is select an entire street and be able to click w to enable all turns at the junctions. I am in the process of dang near re-doing an entire city due to the unknown/one way roads that are in reality two way roads enabling all junctions in-between. If there is a way to enable these junctions without having to click on each one individually and then hitting w, PLEASE let me know :)

I'm not sure if this was due to the new editor or not, I got this sometimes with the old editor but never for all four streets at the junction. But I added a road and had to completely disconnect all roads (before I drew the road there were three connecting fine) then re-connect one by one to have them snap together. Before i would just have to move one and then try again and it would work. But i had to completely get rid of the junction then reconnect then reassign the turns to get it to work.

other than that the new editor is beautiful :)
