SOLVED: Roundabout Issue

Post by hmarian
Hi There,

I'm seeing a navigation issue at the following location - https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=-79.45 ... s=61804734

At the intersection of Schuster Lane and Autumn Hill Blvd there is a roundabout. When you approach this roundabout from both directions, Waze draw a circle like in the images below, instead of telling to go straight with an appropriate image.

I tried to recreate the roundabout a few times, but it never changes.

Any help from someone who gave seen thus before?

Thanks,
Hagay.

For the second roundabout yes but the first one appears to be suffering the 0th exit bug and will need to be rebuilt.

The instruction are correct for a roundabout. Its telling you there's a roundabout ahead, and to go 180 degrees through the circle and come out the other side.

Looking at the location, that's not really a round about, its more of a decoration used to slow down through traffic. Personally I would suggest just making it a normal junction, and not a roundabout.

Thanks for the help.

A roundabout in this intersection is needed to avoid confusion by drivers.

I have recreated the circle as suggested and will test after the next map update in a couple of days and post back here.

Regards,
Hagay.

Just checked this out this morning, after the map update got through, and the going straight at the the roundabout now appears well in the client.

Thanks for the help,
Hagay.

The mentioned bug requires the traffic circle to be recreated.

The traffic circle may have been edited recently, but it was not recreated recently. It was done in June 2011.
Delete the 3 segments that make up the roudabout itself, then join all 3 road segment in the centre. Adjust the Autumn Hill Blvd section to create a 90 degree angle with Schuster Ln and use that as the centre point for the new roundabout. When it's created, Q/W all 3 of the roundabout junctions and remove the extra geometry nodes used on Autumn Hill Blvd to line it up 90 degrees.

Once recreated it should give the normal carry on straight / turn left / turn right instructions after the next map update.
