I'm a fan but I still can't use it
I love the crowdsourcing model. I love driving around at home picking up goodies. I love that the iPhone app is free.
But when I'm in an unfamiliar place, every time I try to use Waze to maintain situational awareness, get directions, understand where I am or consider an alternative route, it can't hold a candle to Google Maps, even though I don't get turn-by-turn with Google.
The Google map is clearer and the interface is more useable when I'm on the freeway trying not to crash. In this particular case I knew that 133 led to a toll road so I needed to find a way to approach my destination from the south. Waze couldn't get me there.

I wouldn't post this if I wasn't so hopeful about Waze continuing to improve.
EDIT: Oops, perhaps this post should be moved here
