Would the GPS system be so screwy that Waze somehow thinks this person is on the wrong island (a couple hundred miles away)?

Thanks. That's a good enough diagnosis for me.

That's a "not identified" error. With no other information. I'm thinking he doesn't realize what island he's on (could be a visitor thinking the big island of Hawaii is where Honolulu is). If there was a GPS track for him, then you could figure it out.

I have noticed if I'm down the road and I open up Waze, it will take a minute or so to update to my current location. I had gone to my friend's house in another part of the city and didn't use Waze to get to her apartment. When I was leaving her apartment, I turned Waze on and gave my current location as my apartment. I even started driving and after about a minute, it finally updated, so it could be that too.
