Deleting unapproved speed Cameras

Post by
Hi,

We will start to run a process every two weeks that will delete speed cameras that haven't been approved within 14 days.

Thanks,

Shira

I have yet to get any solid information from Waze on that. I've been pestering them for weeks. The latest was this: "We are working on a process that will recalculate all the city polygons every 10 days - 10% of the cities in each day." Right now, it's a little loose on when a city gets its polygon updated. And when Waze writes "polygon" they mean the shaded area and the name on the map, apparently.

But it still doesn't work or not completely, as there still left a lot that exceeded the 14 days limit

Is it possible it was approved but has recently become unapproved by people clicking "not there"?

In Area where there is few camera ie 3 or 4 along 1 km of a road
sometimes when making change around it also update last update date on some camera thought you didn't touch them
perhaps because of script use, like URO

I completely missed this thread, and didn't know that this process existed. I've had the official list of red light cameras and speed cameras approved in New Orleans for about a year, so every month or so, I'll turn on the camera layer and delete all the extras. With the number of cameras I find on there every month, you'd never know that there was any process to automatically delete them. It's insane the number of false reports that come in.

I delete over 100 cameras a week in Connecticut alone, and then I also cover RI & parts of NY & MA (RI only has a limited number of cameras in Providence & NY only allows them in certain numbers in certain cities/counties. CT & MA don't allow them at all).
