Routing wrong way down one-way roads

Post by
I am frequently seeing "Suggested route frequently ignored" fixes required where the reason users are not taking the suggested route is because Waze is suggesting they travel the wrong way down one way roads. These roads are set correctly, so what would be the best course of action for correcting the issue?

For instance:

https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... s=22264741

It seems to happen mostly at the intersection of two streets. Haven't seen it much on other road types.. Anyone else noticing this?

Thanks,

A lot of this type of Automatically Detected Map Problems use REALLY old data. Mark them as solved and move on...

1) Don't hijack threads (see the Forum Rules)
2) Read the Waze FAQ (specifically item #28).

Those one-way segments have rev cons (Reverse Connections). From what I've seen in the past, rev cons really can cause Waze to route the wrong way down a one-way street.

Did I miss something where that Is that no longer a problem? Or should those nodes be fixed?

vincevega84,

The nodes at Dublin Dr/Malbay Dr (southern connection) and Dublin Dr/Dublin Ct also have rev cons.

Actually, now that I'm looking at it again - I don't think the southwestern segment of Dublin Dr is even one-way. The aerial shows cars parked facing both directions, unlike the eastern segment where all cars are facing the same direction.

Also, U-Turns are allowed at the nodes at Dublin Dr/Malbay Dr (northern connection) and Malbay Dr/Cavan Dr. That can also produce routing problems.

I had assumed the same, but I'll follow suit and continue marking "Solved".

After looking at the example provided in the initial post, I see what you're talking about. The wiki clearly outlines how to see if they are Reverse Connections by toggling the roads as Two-Way, etc.

I use these map problems as clues to fix the area. The first thing I do is mark the MP solved, then I look around and improve whatever I can nearby. If I don't find anything, I assume the MP was from old data.

How old is REALLY old? I inquired about this not too long ago and I thought a few weeks was long

I just assumed that with map updates happening almost daily that the data used for MP's would be updated as well (not daily but on a monthly basis at least). Guess that's what "assume" will get you
