Start with a street closer to the city center and name it. When you name it, also fill the information about the city name. The city name is a propriety of the streets, so the city is where the streets are. The point is to start with the city center so the name looks nice on the map.

Expect about a week between updates and the effect on your phone. The Live Map in Europe has a timestamp of 10.26.2010 and I can actually see my updates from Sunday, altho I have a really bad memory.

Don't get too hung up on the update time, if you edit with any sort of regularity you'll soon lose track of what you did when and instead just started to notice a gradual but steady stream of new updates coming through!

Appreciate those first few can seem to take forever though!
