How to split a single road into multiple roads?

Post by DMGriffster
New area admin here!

I have one road on the local cartouche map that is actually a number of separate roads but when selected it highlights as one segment.

Is it possible to separate this into it's constituent roads and if so, how?

I have yet to be allowed to do this on the US server. Always get "No permissions."

Hi,

On a similar subject, I was trying to edit a trace that was actually two roads but with a staggered junction. Adding a junction or even two did not help me create the staggered junction or split the roads.

Any ideas as to how this can be achieved??

Hi,

No, I can neither break/remove/anything with that junction. I have tried adding a second junction and moving Twycross Rd to the second junction but that didn't work.
I also tried editing the road to remove it from the junction area without success.

Maybe I should just delete the road entirely and then manually add it back?

Don't understand what the problem is here!? Disconnect Twycross Rd from the node, move the geometry down then add another junction!

Or am I missing something?

Cripes, that was so simple I feel rather silly for asking now, thanks!

In this case it wasn't a divided road, it was one long trace that covered 5 separate roads.

This is it (I've highlighted the original single road that I've now split):

Most of the roads here are partial segments of much longer roads which I'll now visit and capture.

Do you know what governs where Waze breaks a trace when they are created? On those I have created using Waze it seems to break a road up into random lengths with no obvious rhyme or reason. I can understand it doing so where there are marked changes in direction or speed but that doesn't appear to be the case in the examples I have looked at?

OK, two possible solutions:

- Click the road, hold CTRL and click the node. You should now be able to chose 'Disconnect road from node' in the Edit panel. After disconnection, you can connect it to the other junction.
- Click the road, hold CTRL and then click first the current node, and then (still holding CTRL) click the new junction. In the Edit panel, you now can choose 'Switch road between nodes'.

Note that you might need Area Manager permissions for these actions.

As mentioned in another thread, it works fine for me (on the world server), although I haven't tried it outside my AM area. I dit try it with the roads in this example, it did'nt work, but i never have driven there (or even within 500 miles from it).
