Yes, sure, I agree. As quick fix you just need to add these lines to the script's header:

But this is something the author should do (and to do it thoroughly, you would need to add more lines for beta WME etc.).

There is no easy way to scroll. Can only use the slider/ arrows. The new message line covers the down arrow, so you end up going to the new message, then have to scroll back up to where you were reading.

I saw the icon when I entered the editor, but it has since disappeared.
Browser = Chrome on Win7

MGODLEW's suggested location makes far more sense than right on top of the maps we are supposed to be editing.

I am here because the chat box is simply a big pain.
It is a pain because to be able to do any useful editing I am forced to refresh the page [very often] using the permalink thingy.
Every single time I must close that new chat box!
Please, please find some other place for it, where it 'goes away or can be hidden' perhaps with 'full screen toggle'?

Thank you to the person/s who worked to fix this. It is now far more workable.
Now, I dream only if you could speed up page loads from China, then the max I seen so far THREE people editing for this GIANT area might actually be able to get some useful edits done!

The location of an editor's hard-hat icon/avatar -- is it based on what the editor is viewing or what the editor last edited?
I have seen some avatars move around at light speed (still for 2-3 seconds, then moving several miles away, still for 2-3 seconds, several miles, etc., repeated many times). Hard to imagine somebody editing in that fashion.
If the icon shows up where you're looking as opposed to where you're actively editing that would be fun to know.
