Can anyone add a landmark point?

Post by AlanOfTheBerg
Hi editors,

Has anyone had any "luck" adding a landmark point on the US server? When I click the point, the Edit Panel gets the waits with the spinning animation and nothing else ever happens. After 2-3 minutes I click the Permalink and move on to other things.

Okay, so no sooner did I write this, but the spinning stopped and I was able to add a point.

Can only the creator of a landmark add the points?

When it worked for me today, it took somewhere between 45s - 1-1/2 minutes.

After #3 you must
  1. click somewhere within the selected landmark to add the point first
  2. click "Save Changes" after (about) two minutes
  3. the "Edit Landmark Point Details" form will appear into which you select the type of landmark and a name.
  4. click "Create new landmark point."

When I find screwed up or mis-named landmarks I didn't create, they get deleted. And then I add a new, correct one.

In my experience you can only add landmark points at a relatively small distance of the landmark. If the distance is to big, you can wiat for ever for it to show up, but it won't. When I want to add a landmark point at a greater distance, I temporarily change the shape of the landmark so that it overlaps the desired location of the point. Then, when the point is finished, I change the shape of the POI back.

Unfortunately, the client isn't guiding me to the "Entrance of exit for cars", just to some arbitrary point close to the landmark. So my guess is that the point don't matter yet. I'd be glad to hear someone with a different experience.

Hi,

how long does it take to create a landmark point? I waited about 30 min, but no point was added. Neither in the forum nor in the wiki I could find any help about creating a landmark point.
I would be very happy if anyone could explain or post a link.

thanks

Hi,

OK, I waited for over 10 min now, but no landmark point was added:
1- I selected a landmark
2- In the edit-panel the "Landmark selected" message appeared
3- I selected "add landmark point"
4- I clicked a street within the landmark
5- nothing happened

I also tried that:
1- I selected a landmark
2- In the edit-panel the "Landmark selected" message appeared
3- I selected "add landmark point"
4- I clicked "save changes"
5- The message "landmatk point details" appeared
6- I inserted a Name
7- I clicked a street within the landmark
8- nothing happened

I'm not really shure what the right way is. I'm AM where this landmark is located: http://world.waze.com/cartouche/?zoom=7 ... FFFFFFTTTT

thanks for helping

:D :D IT WORKS :D :D Thank you very much for helping.
It seems that didn't wait long enough in the past. After that I tried and tried, but in the wrong order. It can be very annoying when it takes so long. I have to be very patiend, when adding all the landmark points to the landmarks in my area. :geek:
