"d" node deletion works only once - Firefox w/typeahead find

Post by Powoz
The node teletion in eiditing road geomery mode work only once for me - the very first time I click "d" hovering over a node, it works, after that it stops working - until I tell the browser to reload the Cartouche URL.

This is apparently caused by Firefox's "typeahead find" functionality - the very first time I type "d" it first goes to Cartouche and activates the typeahead find, and it looks like subsecuent "d"s go to typeahead find and not to Cartouche. Disabling typeahead find makes "d" work properly, but it would be nice if this was unnecessary.

I am using Firefox 3.6.13 on CentOS Linux 5.5

I've never heard of this in Firefox and have been using FF without problem on waze for a year.

Typeahead is a function of computers that allows you to type faster than the display can sometimes keep up with if it is busy doing something else. I don't see how this affects cartouche!? Although I'm not saying it isn't! Where do you disable it in FF?

Ah right, yes I know what you're talking about - I never liked that, disabled it again very quickly as it kept activating when I was trying to fill in forms etc. Ctrl+F isn't exactly a chore! ;)

I'm not sure there's much waze can do about this; sounds like a limitation of the script rather than something the devs will take any time to code around!

When typeahead find is disabled, you can always do a quick search by pressing the '/' in stead of Ctrl+f.

Typeahead is a function of computers that allows you to type faster ...
No, I was referring to the "typeahead find" - a feature of Firefox that allows you to seach for text in the web page just by typing the text - very convenient if you often search for things and want to avoid having to use Ctrl-F all the time.

You can enable/disable this feature in "Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> General -> Search for text when I start typing" or, alternatively, by toggling accessibility.typeaheadfind in about:config. It is disabled by default, so you would indeed never see this problem if you do not enable the typeahead find.
