Hey!

We're glad to finally announce that the v1.6 editor is now also available in the World environment.

Tile updates are expected to be a bit delayed in the next few days, but all editor functions are available and eventually all your edits will reach the tiles and clients of millions of wazers

There are many new aspects to this version. The best first step is to read the places wiki at https://wiki.waze.com/wiki/Places. You can also review the announcement threads for details on what has changes since the last version:

In addition, we are also upgrading the editor in NA / IL environments (this is the same version we just deployed in World). Changes are:

• You can now hide closed MPs / URs
• Smaller area places are always above bigger ones, so they are selectable
• You can now move area places around, again
• Bug fix - venue undo not working when changing lock rank
• Localisation plural support for ko, ja, ms, zh and ru
• Bug fix - restrictions edit time pickers in LTR languages
• Bug fix - Esc now cancels roundabout drawing
• Place categories are now sorted alphabetically.

This is a well-known, long-standing bug: https://bugs.waze.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6348. Waze has confirmed this is a known bug.

They'll do it if they want to. However, to bring about more visibility, I'll open a bugzilla for it.

Not a significant issue, but I found you can be logged out of WME and the chat will continue to show chats. You can't enter messages yourself, though, so not really a big issue.

The chat server is still having daily problems with repeating chats, and more often, chat going to multiple country rooms at a time and the user does not show up in the user list.

Changes to turn restrictions which do not involve soft turns will not display the previous editor who made the turn restriction change (WME may show it temporarily, but refreshing will revert the display). Only when you change a soft turn to hard (unlocked to locked) does an attribute of the segment object actually update and therefore shows as a change to the segment.

'This is the way it has always been,' though we've asked to have it changed. Supposedly, the coming history view of objects will allow us to properly see changes, including turn restritions.

I didn't think WME colored Landmarks/Places differently. Didn't an extension like WMECH do this?

Maybe that was a world server thing. I don't think the NA server has colored anything differently. The app does, thankfully...
