I didn't test it, but indeed. Only 20% of the roads had a red and white dashed line.

You should close the connecting roads as well.
The event only closes the segments, not the nodes.

I would hope at least that a L6 could one-shot close something, or two L3s, or an L5 and an L1, or six L1s closing the same segment. It should not take that much corroboration to close a segment, or else closures won't ever happen. They're difficult enough to report as it is.

We all know the client isn't anywhere near forgiving enough when it comes to reporting closures. I saw a dot-matrix sign a quarter mile before an intersection that said one road coming off it was closed. Even stopped at the second block before the intersection, I could not report that right turn closed.

Waze uses local time based on the client. This is the same as it uses for ETA calculation. The server doesn't know or understand time zones. If the client tells the routing server it's 11:30, and the server knows the road is closed 11-4, the server will tell the client it's closed.

Presumably, since mobile phones set time and time zone automatically, the client's clock can be trusted. So there's no real need for the routing server to be time-zone-aware except perhaps for proper ETA calculations on routes that cross time zone lines.

Someone sitting near a time zone line may be willing to try this out: two similar TBTRs valid since e.g. 10:00 at two sides of the line, a route through them at 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and note, which one is when taken.

Staff informed us that TBTRs are not time zone aware, I believe.

My extrapolation is based not only on personal experience and conjecture but also on that statement from staff.

BTW – unless it's been updated, the "how to input event closures" presentation says that cross-streets are closed automatically. But I believe that you are correct, Peter, that they are not, and that they need to be added.
