Pushed an update earlier. Let me know if there are still issues with text fitting in the shields.

I am so glad someone pointed this out.
Looks much better :D
Credit really goes to Joyriding, he pointed out how to make the Waze render engine do all the hard work. :D

FasterinoSpeederino wrote:I also say thanks @SkiDooGuy for this much-needed addition when mapping Road Shields.

I noticed that Road Shields on ramp segments are not being displayed. This is needed in Germany because of the import done by Waze, such ramp segments also have a Road Shield set.
If we could see them with the script more easily, we could better remove them in the future.
Feature added and update uploaded.

Thanks John, I pushed the update out.

Being as the checks are based on Regex, there may be errors as I coded the US all at once and quickly. So please let me know if there are incorrect results and I'll update them.

To those who are awaiting updates from me to include your country please stay patient. I've had a busy couple weeks with little time to devote to programming.

Do not know if it would be inside the main goal of this script, but since RS is only automatically applied to all segments with same Street / City name, it would be helpful to have some tool like the one available in ToolBox where we can copy segment attributes.

In this case, the idea is to allow the user/editor to copy the same RS between a segment with same street name but different city name: user/editor would select the one already with RS and then copy RS to the one selected in second place with just a click of a button.

Thanks.
Already was in the works, I just haven't taken the time to finish it.
RickyPV89 wrote:Dear SkiDooGuy,
your script is amazing but I'm facing many hard-to-read shields in Italy since we have many long texts in them (e.g. "SPexSS596dir" - 12 digits - could be the longest that comes in my mind).

Could it be possible to make them more readable?

This an example of one of the longest real names that we have: https://www.waze.com/editor?env=row&lon ... s=83186000

Thank you!!!
Well tell your government to shorten those ridiculously long names - how many people get into accidents trying to read road signs???

But this isn't hard to adapt, should be in the next release which will be this week sometime.

Feature requests (as option): only display shields on minors and up (as they would appear on the client).

This is in the latest release

Thought I had that in the notes. Oh well, thanks John.
