I would just like to highlight to the Developers as well as users that there are instances that the "U-Turn Junctions" are still being suppressed.

Editors should exercise care when suppressing segments as there are still instances where junctions with U-Turns get suppressed.

Just wanted to bring this to light, to keep the developers informed.
Do you have any examples with permalinks? This will help the devs fix it

Yes if you are clearing the locally stored data, then TB can't remember your settings. Otherwise for me it always remembers if I had it off or on last time. Also of note, if you have multiple tabs of WME open it will remember the settings of only one of them so close the rest and then make sure to set the last one correctly before closing.

How about eliminating Soft Turns and enabling "unconfirmed turns"
These are synonyms, I'm not sure why we had checks for both.
His point is when one of the checks was eliminated, they took away the one with lower permissions, leaving the one which was more restricted. This resulted in some countries lower level editors not having access to the check they previously had by using the synonymous check.
Taco is asking if you had to remove one, it should have been the restricted one, and leave the unrestricted one behind.

This can be fixed easily by having all TbCCs update their permissions for these checks, and perhaps a patch update, or an update in the near future. However I would impose on the TB update schedule, they are all volunteer script writers, and I am happy with what we can get from them.

Exactly.

The issue that we have is the Devs are determining that something should be disabled and relying on the TbCC to then submit a request to enable.
The initial update that imposed the restrictions and TbCC system restricted the issues that were of concern for most regions. From that point forward, it should be the TbCC, rather than the Devs, who are making the decision to restrict additional functions.

Last June, we had a permission that was removed by mistake. It was recognized, and we waited until this week for that function to be turned back on. Other functions that had been discussed, and I was under the impression were going to be reactivated, did not come back with this release.
So now we have two functions no longer available in my region, including one very valuable indication that is now only available to L1/2 editors via WMECH.

So even if the TbCC is "Johnny on the spot" and submits requests for permission changes the day of a new release (and this goes for important changes needing restriction as well, what if something like SimSeg entire view were accidentally enabled for 1!) we still have to wait for the next release.

It would be good for the TbCC to have some mechanism to directly alter the permissions and trigger an update. This would also move the load of permission maintenance off of the Devs and allow them to focus on the functionality of the various tools, their integration, and maintenance of operation under the ever-evolving WME revisions.
Perhaps one "master" TbC who is a part of the Dev team given the sole duty of collecting requests from the TbCCs, setting permissions and updating. I can't image that the TbCCs are sending in change requests that frequently.
There is a fragmentation issue with forking the code to do this. If the devs are mid cycle on a new or updated feature, they cant simply roll out a new release to update permissions, because that would include the half baked new feature as well, and likely break functionality. In this vein, permissions can only rolled out with stable releases. That is why they have to come with the next update cycle. if they were just updated on top the last stable release, you run into a possible fragmentation issue, where the new release doesn't also have those permission updates. It also means the devs need to package and build a new release for each permission change, this puts an extra stress on the devs, who are al volunteers, and are already giving us a great product for free.

in your screenshots the select segment list appears to be working for you, what is the issue?

These are screen captures of old, but now no longer work for.

Tks
A quick check of the country permission settings for Columbia (link is in the first part of this thread) shows that this tool is now restricted to rank 6 only. The only one who could make this change is the TbCC for Columbia, Mincho77. To discuss chnaging this you should do so in your local forum, or a new thread for TB permissions in the TB permissions forum. See the TB permissions introduction for more info.

Only level 6, are you kidding?[/quote]
that's what it says, this discussion should not continue in this thread. This is a discussion specific to the country permissions for Columbia. Please discuss it with your Champs and community in a local thread. Only the TbCC for your country will be able to make changes, so discussion should happen in your community.

I understand your frustration, but you can't fix it here. You need to have a conversation with all the Columbian Champs to figure out the path forward.

taco909 wrote:Feature request for the JNF module:

Modify behaviour, or provide an option to make it selectable, so that running "Q" on a junction node does not convert dead-end one-way segments to 2-way.

I have never used "Q" intentionally to perform that operation.
The only time that it seems that it would be needed would be for a new editor who drew and left a one-way (and it's going to likely need more editing anyway), or for paving. In the case of paving, there are usually so many junction nodes on the segment that the correction would only work on the end segment anyway.

OTOH, we use one-way dead-end segments frequently as stubs to force "stay" instructions where BC would normally not provide an instruction.
We don't dare use a 2-way stub because the stupid routing server would route someone into the stub and through a u-turn to avoid making a left.

The problem with the "correction" being automatic is another editor working with the junction may accidentally convert the segment to 2-way without realizing it.
A) Any such hack stub should be used sparingly, and locked high.(high enough that anyone able to edit it is knowledgable enough to protect it)
B) Even if the segment is converted to two way, the turn back off the stub would need to be allowed first before a U-turn could happen (unless you left a Rev-Con there when making it).
C) Even if it was converted to two way, and then the turns were allowed, a dead end uturn is still penalized in middle of a route, and triggers Small Detour Prevention on top of that, so it still shouldn't happen.

Therefore I would support keeping the behaviour as is, and advocate caution when creating/editing hacks.

A one way segment which is subsequently disconnected (a gate is built or discovered, etc.) Will need to be converted, as this tool does as well.

Yup, in beta. Reset TB settings, still nothing.
Mini map does NOT WORK in Beta, this is disabled because of security restrictions put in place by Waze disallowing crossdomain access.
