This is a problem with WME, not with Magic. Magic is simply demonstrating, very visibly, the problem.

If you pan the map whilst something is selected, WME fails to load details of new objects that come into view.

This has already been reported as a bug. An alternate fix is to zoom out a few levels then back in again.
