I still feel like we're on different wavelengths.

I want to see all places, all the time, points and areas, I don't filter those at all, ever. I like knowing they are there as information. When I want to reduce visual clutter, I have all kinds of filters in place to remove the places already, including the built in WME filter for 'places'.

It is just the little balloons that I'm OCD about. I want to eradicate all balloons, either by approving or rejecting. Only then does the map feel 'clean' (until more appear.)

Except, unfortunately, some of those balloons belong to places that I can't edit (either too high a lock, or outside my editable range.) This makes me itch. For one, I can't get rid of them and so the map doesn't feel 'clean' to me, and it irritates my OCD like crazy. And for two, when I'm working on the ones that I can edit, I keep accidentally clicking the ones I can't edit and having to work around them.

Which is why I asked for the filter in the first place and am really thankful how quickly you got it in. However, I want the BALLOON filtered out, but the place itself to stay. The place itself doesn't bother me, it's information I want to keep on my screen and vital to making decisions such as whether to approve nearby places I can edit. Does that make sense?

The way it currently stands is I can have places littering the map, like maybe 15 all along one road, but someone adds a 'new' place, and I zoom in real close, check the other 15 places for a duplicate and I'm like "okay there isn't a place for that one yet, approve" and what it turns out is that there was an invisible-to-me place that was level 5 and had a pending update. (Possibly from the same person that just submitted a 'new' place. =P)

If I have to turn off the filter of balloons I can't edit in order to properly do editing of the ones I can edit, then I'm back to accidentally clicking on ones I can't edit again and I'm back at square one. =(

The funny thing is I can see level 5 places fine as long as they don't have a pending update, but as soon as they have a pending update they disappear, because the place itself is filtered right along with the balloon.

In short, I don't want to hide places I can't edit, I want to hide the balloons I can't take care of.

I'm sure it would be easy to code in current behavior as an option if needed, but there's so many place filters already I don't see why anyone would really need to hide places they can't edit only if they have pending updates. =/

Keep in mind that WME can only show X amount of UR's on the screen at a time. When this addon filters them, it can only hide ones that were otherwise displayed, not force to display ones that the WME hid because there were too many.

You can know for sure this is happening when the UR appears in closer zoom levels (less UR's on the screen) but not at higher zoom levels (too many UR's on screen.)

Are you sure that's not your issue?

Easiest solution is to deal with as many UR's as possible so it gets back under the amount that causes WME to hide some. =P

I have what I hope is a minor enhancement request:

When I send the reporter a message asking for more information, I copy the UR location on the Waze map into a spreadsheet. Then if I don't get a reply in a week, I come back and close it. At present, I'm getting the UR address by clicking on it, selection "open in new tab", and then cutting the URL out of that new tab.

Would it be possible to have another option "copy UR URL to clipboard", thus saving me opening the new tab?

Ian
Temporary workaround, instead of left click and all the hassle of opening the tab (possibly even loading or partially loading the page) then copying, right click the link and 'copy link address' (in Chrome, might be worded differently in other browsers.)

The issue I see with turns is that it could be more than one 'restricted turn there' with more than one bit of information (if you have 'show all disabled turns' shift-Z turned on).

In that case I'd like to see multiple lines of restricted information, if possible.

I'm with SuperDave on that. I've been bumping into the same problem but just assuming it as a limitation of the filter system.

Generally speaking, these are the UR's I want to see:

UR's that have never been touched by an editor ever, and only have reporter comments.
UR's that I have commented on that have not gotten a response in 7 days.
UR's that I have not commented on, but a non-reporter has, that have passed the 7 day mark from last comment (8 days).
UR's that I have commented on that the most recent comment is from someone other than me, no matter what age.
When following a link to a UR, such as from an e-mail, that UR is permanently visible for the duration of the session, ignoring all other filters, until I refresh WME by removing the UR from the URL.

UR's I don't want to see:
UR's that have my comment as the most recent, if under 7 days.
UR's that I have not commented on that have an editor and non-reporter as the most recent, if under 8 days.
UR's I've specifically chosen to hide for this session.
Closed UR's, unless any of the 'show' filters I listed above applies.

~

Does that make sense?

Also, a new feature request. Currently, the red/orange/yellow is based off of WME's default color system, which turns yellow or red after X amount of days. In areas like the raid, where some UR's are really old, it would be more helpful to have that instead scale to the age of the oldest visible UR (after filters are applied), So the third oldest on screen get red, the third in the middle get orange, and the third newest get yellow. Even better if you can do it on a gradient instead of just those three colors!

So for instance if the oldest visible UR is 270 days, then UR's older than 180 days are flagged red, 180-90 are flagged orange, and newer than 90 are flagged yellow. As you take care of red UR flags first and the 'oldest' UR's value comes down, it would scale dynamically. Say you take care of all the red ones until the oldest is 180 days, then it would be older than 120 are red, 120-60 are orange, and under 60 are yellow, etc.

~

Last feature request of the moment: A hotkey to jump to and open the oldest unfiltered UR on the screen.

Except that some of my comments are "Feel free to close, it's your area"
Using current filters, I really hate comments like that since I won't see that UR again for 8 days unless I turn off my filter or navigate to it via the link in the e-mail.

If my requested filter setup becomes possible, though, it wouldn't be a problem at all. =D

Even in areas with low density, I still use filters to determine when I'm 'done' with an area. No more UR's visible = done.

The comments script messed with my URO filters in a very confusing way and I didn't like it. I also couldn't figure out how to create custom comments as I didn't like the defaults. I ended up disabling it.

I've noticed lately a bit of trouble in moving the mouse from the UR bubble to the popup to click on something in the popup. Often the popup disappears so immediately that I have to try two or three times to move the mouse the exact right way from the bubble to the popup to get it to stay so I can click on it.

This is especially the case on certain zoom levels like 1 or 2 I think. Also, if there's several other things around, like another UR between the current one and its popup, then it switches the popup midway.

It basically completely defeats the utility of the popup. Can we be a bit more forgiving about popup removal, perhaps give it 100ms to disappear instead of 0ms?

I think the issue is that in some zoom settings, the space between bubble and popup is large enough that it's hard to transition the mouseover from one to the other. Instead of addressing that gap, though, a small time delay would future-proof the issue, in my opinion.
