What is WME Validator?
WME Validator is an open source, GPLv3 licensed script that validates a map area in Waze Map Editor, highlights issues and generates a very detailed report with wiki references and solutions (see demo report in this forum post)
F.A.Q.: forum link
Complete list of validations: forum link

Why WME Validator?
  • Validator reports issues for your country and provides links to the country wiki. See how to adjust Validator for your country: forum link
  • Validator highlights issues, not features. For example, it highlights not just any locked segment, but only if the lock is an issue.
  • There are many country-specific checks on every segment and counting! See complete list of validations: forum link

What is the process of having wiki links updated?

Unconfirmed turns points to a defunct Wiki Page of (https://www.waze.com/wiki/Soft_and_hard_turns)

It should point to https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Global ... hard_turns

#300 The minor drivable segment has an unconfirmed (soft) turn at node B: wikiClick the turn indicated with a purple question mark to confirm it. Note: you may need to make the segment 'Two-way' in order to see those turns: wiki

----
Too Short Segment points to a defunct Wiki Page of (https://www.waze.com/wiki/Segment_length)

should point to https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Global/Segment_Length

#109 The drivable non-terminal segment is less than 5m long so it is hard to see it on the map and it can cause routing problems: wikiIncrease the length, or remove the segment, or join it with one of the adjacent segments: wiki

---
Smudged City points to a defunct Wiki Page of (https://www.waze.com/wiki/Fixing_%22smudged%22_cities)

Should point to https://wazeopedia.waze.com/wiki/Global/Smudged_city

I very much enjoy this script and look forward to it working again, and thank you to the volunteers in advance who have made it such a success.

I think Validator is a hugely valuable script for the editing community and the loss of the editor is a big loss for the editing community at large. Regardless of there are editors out there who want to take it upon themselves to recreate this tool. I salute you and thank you.

And yes we should be respectful of the scripts license and not copy their work if we don't have expressed written approval.

I dont know if they pushed out some new WME update overnight but my entire map is now showing as unvalidated roads, I am seeing some other strange behavior with other scripts too.

Glodenox wrote:I think the internal structure for street names or cities changed a bit, causing the script to mark all road segments as 'missing country and state'. I haven't done a lot yet with that part of the data model, so I can't remember what it used to look like.
Makes sense I am seeing other scripts with validating features also struggle this morning

Not to mention why spent time and money on something the volunteers will do for free quicker
